THE SPIRALIST

I wanted The Spiralist cover spread to represent a literal spiral without being too obvious. I think the title being written on a circle path gives the effect of a spiral without being too in your face so to speak. I made use of pull quotes throughout this layout as I wanted there to be more contrast on my spreads, as well as a clean way to break up the text so the pages aren’t too text-heavy.

As for my colour choices, after a bit of trial and error I landed on red for my accent colour. I used red to emphasis the pull quotes without changing the type colour itself.

Overall my layouts have subtle nods to the text through the colour and simplicity of the designs, but also show my style of design through the more modern sans serif typefaces and simple layouts.
